magnaflow 16482 exhaust kit Pictures
I have been looking at a magnaflow kit ( 16482 ) the mufflers look like they exit at the side of the muffler instead of the center. I did notice the muffler is only 4" wide by 9" long. So that might be ok with original style tips. Is there anyone that has this kit on a 1971 ( 70 or 72 ) that can send pictures of the exhaust with factory style tips. It would be much appreciated.

Can't tell, that might be an artist rendition or something.
The magnaflow mufflers I got from CC had the exits re-welded to match the proper location of the original tips, including bringing them down to 2" from 2-1/2 so they fit

That's what I mean, I think the image might be just a rendition and not necessarily the actual unit
Here's my previous CC non-magnaflow versions. Same thing, exit in the center, necked down with that odd angle on it to put it parallel to the ground again

The exhaust is lots cool by there and it's got so many other restrictive spots kinks, bends and flattened out area it's down with the least of my concerns

I installed one on my 73. I had to alter the mufflers to put on tips. I bought tips from Gibson that fit the 2 1/2” outlets. The mufflers in that kit have turn-down tips. They do come out the sides so the tips I bought are for side exit.
i ordered some center tips but will need to change the mufflers for them to work.
the kit comes with 2 1/4” pipes from the manifolds to the x-pipes and them switch to 2 1/2” all the way through the mufflers. The 73 rear muffler hangers work good to hold the mufflers/tips at the back. I had to make some custom hangers at the trans mount because of the overdrive trans I installed
