This question sometimes causes fights....it's best to check out the oil page in the tech/performance section, also look at Bob the oil guys page, do all your research and decide.

My experiences good an bad have me using Mobil1 15w50. It has more than enough Zinc and phosphates in it to protect your cam and lifters and its thick enough to support an older high mileage engine and give you decent oil pressure. If you buy it at Walmart the price is good too. IT wont hurt anything either whether its gas mileage or horspoiwer

I still remember the original commercial for Mobil 1 where they drained all the oil out of the engine and ran it around a track without so much as a knock...I have been sold on it ever since.
