1970 350 vert.stamp pad
I would appreciate any and all opinions on this stamp pad.Especially the date as the ones are different and the suffix which I can’t find for a 1970 350 motor.

What does the VIN derivative look like? That’s more telling than the assembly stamp.
While anomalies like this broadcast code aren’t common, they do happen… There are some characteristics of the pad that I do like, but the photo you posted lacks detail. Something closer and in focus would be helpful… As would a photo of the previously mentioned VIN derivative.

What I can see looks OK. Having said that, I can’t see a whole lot in detail… I’m sure that you did your best, but these photos aren’t showing much. This is definitely a stamp you want to see in person.

Just saw what car this belongs to along with some additional photos of the pad.
It may be fine, but you need to have someone very familiar with these cars take a look at that stamp… In person.
That’s the only way that you’ll know for sure whether it’s right or not.
Also consider this… If the pad does check out and the “TH” broadcast code is an anomaly, you’re still going to be explaining that issue to anyone who looks at the car with any knowledge of engine codes. Everyone is going to question it. Personally, I wouldn’t want to deal with that.
Good luck with your decision!

Paul,
Not with that VIN derivative. 70S402093 is definitely out of a Corvette.
The font on the Assembly stamp and the VIN derivative look OK from what I can see. There's a better photo of the pad over in the "For Sale" section of the forum... It appears to be heavily rusted. I doubt that you'll see much in the way of broach marks. If it does turn out to be real, it appears that someone simply forgot to load the "C" into the gang holder.

Thanks Stan did not know there were additional photos. As I really could not see the VIN derivative very well. Strange it was not pulled but with the the valve cover label being so prominent could see getting through. Wonder if any more made it through on that day of production at Flint without the "C".

Ideally, you want to compare it to other 1970 vettes made the same day. See if they all have that anomaly with that particular engine.
You might get lucky and check the C3 registry if there are any cars with pics of there engine pads from that day. This is why some of us have been collecting engine pad pics. You end up seeing some odd variations.
