Default source for decent upper shifter boot for 69 4spd

Well, I just returned my second one from Zip due to same defect....see pic....runs that are either surface coating or rubber itseld. original gm part num was 3940590. Is anyone aware of a source of one that looks decent or at least not like crap? Ordered a NOS one from DOC...to find out only when the order arrived that he didn't have any more of them. I am trying to avoid continued trial and error with the variety of vendors. Or is this one of those...they all selling from the same source?

I bought one a couple of months ago and it looks identical to yours, with the runs. It wasn't from the vendor you mentioned which makes me think they probably all come from the same place that's far away.

Would your car have been born with leather boot? Did not think any 69s did? Interesting that leather cheaper than rubber. Have to think about this for my car tho not correct but prolly look nice(r).

Also have a late November 1969 car… Has a rubber boot similar to the rest of the 1969 Corvettes.

I would just keep checking Ebay. That boot (double bellows) was used in later 68s and all of 1969. Originals pop up. As long as it is not torn, just clean it with some mild dish soap and condition it with some dielectric grease.
