I hear you. I refused to use the cloud for years but my wildfire experience convinced me to find a way to save data that I have scrounged or created or photos that are too precious to lose. I am very slow to adopt new technology but I am glad my precious data is relatively safe with Google.

For those having issues with my zip file, I've uploaded the files to google drive and added a link to my original post.

Losing all the info on those great papers would be a travesty, even though Jim isn't around to share them. They have a wealth of information that any C3 enthusiast can find useful. Those papers should be kept alive on this forum. Shame if they are not...............

I started poking around yesterday for threads related to ignition switch replacement. Came upon one with links to Jim Shea, which I successfully accessed/downloaded. Today when I went to his site to get some images I received a popup message saying the site would soon be deactivated and that the contents have been copied to the Internet Archive - so they would be accessible for perpetuity. The link is https://archive.org/details/corvettefaq. There are zip and torrent downloads available for his papers from that link. I pulled the zip file (about 300mb) and extracted everything without problem (I use 7z on windows). No problems opening any of the handful of files I tried.

If you're interested, "Libre Office" is an open source office package (available for no charge) that works with all the MS Office files and a whole bunch of other stuff too.
