Have yet to see another early C3 with a 4 post rack, so I'll keep it.

We filled mine, and a lot of other stuff, years ago and you still can't tell they were there.

I am more annoyed that one of the plastic ends is missing on one of the rails. Thats a "want to" item and not a "have to" which means later.

Mine has been on the car since new, just removed it last year when painted and I like the cleaner look.

Very polarizing topic for the C3, but nearly universally loved by owners of other makes which is interesting.

When my car went in for NEW paint. The body shop asked me three separate times
if I wanted the luggage rack holes filled in? The pictures show my answer!

Love them.

When I was looking for a Corvette I really wanted one with the luggage rack. It just adds a little extra chrome and, in my opinion, enhances the look of the car.

I used to drive my ‘65 Corvette convertible with hardtop to hockey practice every morning in 1977 during New England winter, with my equipment in the passenger seat and the sticks sticking out of the passenger window.

It was cold.

When we got married in '81 it came in handy so they had someplace to tie the sign to. Came in handy when we went on our honeymoon too. Not much room in a '77 for any luggage and the access isn't that great either. Today it just makes it easier to store the roof panels.

I don't like them, but I sometimes wish I had one for carrying T-Tops. So I voted indifferent. Seriously, if someone made a removable one with little painted plugs I'd have to give it some consideration.

Mine came with one from factory. Previous owner removed rack and filled holes & re-painted car. Did a crappy job on both. So when I did a frame off in resto in early 2000's, I had the body shop refill holes. Unfortunately, after a few years the filled holes became slightly visible AGAIN if you looked hard, so I put the rack back on. I'm good with it. It was an original option.

I have a 4 post rack in the shop. looks new. Never saw one on the car. Came in the same box as the 6 post I got at a swap meet. Both looked new. I used the 6 post. If I remember correctly both have the T Top ****

OMG, some don't have sufficient things to worry about!

A fellow Corvette owning coworker added the text

Try that with no rack!

Mine has been very usful over the years. It has even carried a mini-bike (in the box) home from the mall, but it mostly is used to store my T-tops
