Default Help. Anyone know where this car might be.

About 7 years ago during a divorce I had to sell my car. It has pained me ever since.
I've lost all track of who bought it. I think he was somewhere in the Midwest.

My circumstance have improved much since then and I'd love to get the chance to talk to the current owner.

I remember seeing the ad you put in the for sale section...it was really impressive to what you created.
Good luck on your search.

new jersey keeps record of every vehicle you ever owned. go to DMV and get a driver or vehicle abstract. there is your vin number if you don't currently have it. it is impossible to find a car without a vin. and then do title search in jersey. it may give you new or whole list of owners. since it was your car, they will allow the title search. my 92 yr old mom is in Siezuretown...

do a title search. the jersey title came back to jersey from wherever it was titled. they may give you that info since you were the previous titled owner.

another possibility. it doesn't look like a cheap POS. so cash unlikely. how did he pay you? check or direct deposit? go talk to your bank.

This doesn't cost anything and might help you narrow down the location...
https://www.carfax.com/Service
Create an account and put in the VIN of the car. If they've had work done on it anywhere, it'll give the name of the shop it was at. It'll also show any emission tests, safety inspections and registration renewals for the state that it's located in.

According to the NMTVIS report it is titled in Utah. There is a link in the report to obtain information, it may not work because of privacy laws but it wouldn't hurt to try. These reports cost $4.95, please pay it forward.

Interesting information, I wish that sometimes cars could talk, as I used the DMVdesk to try and track down a car that I once owned. It was a 1977 Pontiac T/A that I owned from it being brand new, in the fall of 1976, through 2001, when I sold it and bought my '01 C-5. Strangely, the report that I obtained through DMVdesk showed no history of the car from new, through 2007, then showed history in three western states. Where it was, for the 6 years after I sold it, and how it got from western NY to Arizona is something I'd like to know, just out of curiosity.....
