1969 Corvette Project car in WNY
#1
My Uncle passed away a few months ago and in his garage is a white 1969 Corvette coupe that he hardly drove -- I am guessing less than 20K on it -- but it also has not been started/driven for 30+ years!! What do I sell something like that for??
This is the Uncle’s car — not been started for anout 40 years
Automatic, white exterior, brown leather interior VIN 194379S719484 not sure of engine size, but it is original.
Anyone want to put a estimate on what it would be worth?

Hello, you must post as many pics as you possibly can. Interior, under hood, all angles of the body, under car, frame, front suspension, rear suspension, etc. Don't skimp! There is no thing as too many pics! You will get the best possible appraisal from the folks on this forum Regards, LowSporty

You will need to give more information to get a more reasonable answer. Questions we will all want to know:
Automatic transmission or 4-speed?
350 or 427 engine? Original or replacement?
color of interior and general condition?
Conditions in which it was stored all this time?
The engine could very easily be seized, depending on storage conditions. Brakes will be shot, and it is possible that the rotors are rusted to the pads and the car won’t move.
A low mileage 69 could be a desirable car, or it could be a trainwreck.

Let's say it's in #4 fair condition....
Hagerty says on a '69 Coupe anywhere from $17k on a base L48 up to $49k for a L89.
Pics & Info....LOTS!...

Based upon what we can see, it certainly looks like a great candidate to get back on the road. The chrome bumper C3s are the most desirable, and body and interior appear to be in very good shape.
If it has the original engine, and it was running before going to sleep for 40 years, it would be a terrific find for someone. Even if not running and the block is in good shape, it should be easily rebuildable.

Nice, luckily parts are easy to find because almost everything that isn’t glass, steel or fiberglass will need to be replaced plus annoying things like seat cushion foam. Get it running and enjoy, but don’t go overboard with a restoration, so few are truly collectible. But, I drove mine today, it’s my soulmate.

Pre restoration maybe 20-25k depending on the buyer??? All depends on how intact the engine/drivetrain is I would imagine. Its gonna need a LOT of new bits, but it doesnt look like body panels have much rust if any. If it doesnt need a body off repaint thay could substantially increase its value to the right hands.
Im just spit balling. Im nowhere near an expert in C3 values.

I think it would be nice to leave this up in the C8 section because that's where most of the traffic is A lot of C8 owners might be interested, and don't necessarily ever visit the older gen sections of this forum.

Back in the day, I owned a 69 390 Horse Big Block Roadster and a 71 425 Horse LS6 Big Block Coupe. The 71 had the same interior as yours. One of the reasons I sold the car in 1988 after 11 years of ownership was the foam padding under the vinyl skin on top of the dash had turned into a powder and the skin was just sort of wrinkly with no reasonable way to restore the foam at that time. The car had been a daily driver for years so the dash had been exposed to a lot of sun light and the foam basically reverted back to its original form.

Moved to C3 General Section. Nice car BTW. And there will be a redirect for the thread in the new place.

OP, can you get a classic car mechanic (preferably your local Corvette specialist) to come out look at it? As others have said, the presence or absence of rust is an unknown that will play a huge role in the valuation. What’s visible up on top in just those few photos look pretty clean, but even without rust on the frame there’s a lot to take a look at.

Judging by the underside photo it appears this Vette has seen several winters with road salt.
The only concern for me would be rust...you can see the drivers side headlight is pitted from road salt splatter from way back when, and solid corrosion in the photos of the rear of the car.
Rest of car looks very good. If you buy it you will probably end up doing a frame off unless you're okay with a rusty underside(even if no rust through).
