Rear window trim. Cracked and warped.
Well, I just ran a thread on plastic glue to repair my cracked and warped rear window inside trim.
Believe it or not over 20 years ago this trim piece was on my to do list. But it always seemed something else was more important.
As of today, I have some plastic epoxy on order. Should be able to pick it up in 2 days. I have to work and the Auto parts stores have the same hours I work. So Saturday afternoon it is.
Tonight I started to remove the trim.
Yup I broke it in yet another spot. Really fouling my plans of straighten it with a heat gun first as it broke in about the worst place.
Just about centered in this huge warp. it split in 2 again
Looking at this.
Not at all what I had invisioned the back side of this trim to look like.
More photos.
Sooo,
This trim piece is 120 bucks U.S. , Around 180 - 200 bucks Australian. Then it's a large part, Shipping around 300 - 350 Australian. Around 500 bucks for a black plastic trim part I hardly ever look at. Stressful.

Ouch...
Mine is also cracked at the lower left screw.
Used to rattle but resolved that.
If you look at ebay vendor fullthrottlecorvette they are selling Black $79.00 US and shipping to Australia $95.04 but is also says Import Charges of $22.70
Does that look correct to you?
I would post a link, but I think you at one time said you don't open links?

I looked into that. 295. and change Australian. Almost 300 bucks for a piece of trim.
The joys of being overseas.
I am ordering this. This one looks to far gone.

I'm about to replace mine as the rattle came back and is driving me nuts?
Any install tips?

Yes I did. I had ordered it back when this was discussed, almost 2 years ago. I found it to be a excellent reproduction part. And yes it cost me about 300 bucks! On the inside, that you can't see it is slightly different. On the outside that you do see, it's a perfect reproduction. All the screw holes lined up perfectly. So, no real installation tips. Take out the screws, remove old one and install new one.
I did put a thin piece of weather strip between the lower edge of this trim and the center section trim below it as the factory left a gap.
