Default Tires

Simple question.

Cooper Radial G/T or BFG Radial T/A?

Cooper Cobra Radial G/T

The RWL on
BFG Radial T/A yellows within a month. and BFG don't care about the complaints they received about it.

There's also Mickey Thompson which are made by Cooper.

That's what I'm going to look at next time...

I'm sure this will spark some good comments. I started a thread "Time for new Tires" a week or so ago. You will find the forum members fairly evenly split on this question.
BFG says the browning of the RWL is not a defect or cause for concern. Plenty of threads on the browning and options for dealing with it. I decided, "why deal with it" and went with Cooper.

BFG doesn’t seem to care about their customers nor their reputation. What does that tell you?? Ike

I bought 4 new BFG Radial T/A's four months ago. The tires were manufactured in 2021.

The letters are still white.

I'll report back in another couple of months.

Maybe BFG has started to deal with this issue.

We'll see ....

Another vote for Coopers. If BFG actually HAS dealt with the brown walls, I`ll never know it on my cars.

Rodger, what size? It didn’t seem to be across the board of the BFG line.
My 225s were worse than the 235s. There didn’t seem to be a pattern. Ike

As per the description on the invoice:
BFGoodrich - Radial T-A - P225/70R15 100S RWL

Like I said, maybe the new stock doesn't have this issue. Only time will tell, but it's been almost five months since they were installed and still white.
BTW, how long does one have to wait before this "browning" is evident?

I'm curious about the difference in ride and handling between the two tires......

Bought my BFG's in 2018 and they were date coded 2 0 1 8. Noticeable browning started in just a few months and a few hundred miles.

One solution to brown lettering is turn the tires around on the rims and go blackwall.
