Emergency brake light
So the emergency brake light stays on all the time when the car is running. How do I fix this? I thought I read that there is a sensor by the emergency brake handle. The car is a 1975 convertible

You'll have to remove the ebrake console to get to and adjust the switch for the light. There is a little bit of wiggle room to adjust the position of the switch.

Depending on who has been working on your car before, there may be a nut holding the ebrake console in place at the back of the unit. To get to this nut you will need to go into the rear 3 compartment area.
You can remove the center compartment, or with some luck, you can get to the nut from the side compartments and using a ratchet wrench take the nut off.

The "brake" light can be "turned on" by not only the emergency brake handle but also by the proportion valve under the master cylinder.
I'd pull the wire loose under the hood first- that way before taking the console apart- you will not be chasing your tail.
If it is still on- gently rock the lever side to side - and push down slightly- if it goes out- there really is no adjusting for the switch- just saying-
It might be the cables are too tight - not allowing lever to be fully seated.
Or the wire could be shorted to ground- pinched somewhere- as that would cause the light to stay on as well.
Things to check before pulling it all apart...

Yep. That "warning" light illuminates for two different faults, as mentioned above: E-brake problem (it should only come on when the handle is pulled to engage the brake); and a problem with the hydraulic brake system (usually because there is a leak in either the forward half or the rear half of the system / it can also light because of a fault in the distribution block).
