Throttle solenoids
I have a 1978 Pace Car I am in the process of getting it back on the road
I have managed to get most of the parts that I need for the mechanical side except for one part. The throttle solenoid to raise the idle when the air is on.
The car is L82, auto a/c. The part I need is a one year only and the usual suppliers ie Ecklers etc do not have one.
Can someone help me with a vendor who might have it. I would prefer a new one as everything else has been replaced and replaced with a new or restored. My solenoid is beyond saving!
Thanks

1983 Corvette Parts And Illustrations Catalog under Gr.3.440 number will direct you to the end of Gr.3.0 and you will have to search through the 78 supplemental reference part numbers.
Many of these part numbers have been superseded.
The part number I come up with for your L82 W/AT & AC is GM #1997461.
For example, my 77 W/AT & AC came factory with solenoid GM #1997437.
In 1982 that number was superseded to GM #1997461, notice same part number as yours.
In 1983 that number was again superseded to GM #17067179.
The only difference in the latest part number is the solenoids body length, the solenoid is fully adjustable and will work just fine on your 78.
78 Supplemental Reference Numbers:
Here are some solenoids that have the longer body. If you looking for 1997461 ink stamped part number on the solenoid body good luck.
