Got pin stripes?
Anybody remember way back in the last century when new car dealers took it upon themselves to add pin stripes to their lot cars? When it was done tastefully I liked it. I’m not talking about the “Tribal” art crap like Tramp Stamps. Something like an 1/8” or 2 stripes, one 3/16” with another 1/8” (sizes are approximate).
I have a white C3, a Blue and Red too but I’m thinking about a Dark Blue stripe to match the interior from front to back (not continuous) on the White ‘vette. Anybody have a good photo of a C3 with pin stripes they can post?

I also like that look Rich. I usually stripe my C3's, as it's period correct and I think the smooth curve of the fenders just begs for it. I use a double 3/16". It's very small and very clean looking, and I match it up to the interior color as well. Also, with the later, higher cowl induction hoods, they offer some pretty creative stripe kits to match up. They aren't too gaudy or loud and accent the clean hood lines as well. On some of my cars ('73 and later), depending on color combination, I've also striped around the open fender vent behind the front wheel.
Here are a couple pics of my '73 striped with dark red to match the interior. It's pretty subtle.
I think a dark blue stripe on your white car would look real sharp!

Black with gold pinstripe. Pinstripe is painted on, not tape. I’ve wanted to take it off, but not without a new paint job. But it has grown on me over the years. Previous owner painted it on, not me. I’m pretty sure if I ever did repaint the car, it would probably be stripeless. This was a few weeks ago, when I lifted the body off the frame.

This is Todd Fisher from Volusia County Customs, now located in Franklin NH. He "free handed" the stripes...outside...at a car show....with people all packed in around him while he was doing it. The crowd kept growing, so we all moved out into the street so we were all about 6 to 8 feet from him so as not to bump him when this lady just strolled through the people... was just walking by. She stopped and went up and asked what he was doing and was leaning against him. I had to say excuse me, culd you not bother him just right now please. Ahe turned around and looked at all the people watching and got real snooty and just huffed off.....WTF.
He uses a thin green tape as an outline so he can follow it to make a straight line
HE also did this for me but thats another story
