Default My '71s heritage

So it appears in this forum is it best to start a new thread for different issues even on the same car in order to get the right sets of eyes looking at your info, so here goes.

When I was sold this car the owners of the dealership I bought it from told me it was their personal vehicle for the last 18 years.
Well, that along with most everything else they told me was hogwash.

I just got off the phone with a guy in Baton Rouge, LA that told me he bought the car in 2009 from a classic corvette specialist in Ohio.
He sold it to an individual in Brooksville, FL in 2015.
He said it ran fine and had no issues while he had it, He never spent any money on it as far as repairs were concerned.

So that's one piece of the puzzle down. Any idea what the place in Ohio that he bought it from might be? He said he went and picked it up and drove it home to LA. The showroom had 20 or 30 classic vettes in it. He could not remember the name of the place.

The VIN is 194671S120924

Did you see the C3 registry by chance? What part of Florida are you in?

Mershon's could be another possibility.

I did, that's how I found the guy in LA. When I took over ownership of the page it gave me access to the phone #s of the previous owners that registered on the site.
I contacted both. One said wrong #, the other was helpful.

How do you find the stickers? I thought that involved dropping the fuel cell.

i reached up from the front of the tank and pulled the sticker off the top of the tank. of course it was in pieces and not very well preserved but it was readable.if its still there the best way is to drop the tank. the one taped to the steering column was very well preserved and easy to get.

Nice looking car.

You should consider getting rid of that rubber fuel line ASAP.

For info on y old 73 I contacted the states' DMV office, completed their forms and sent them a check and got their information. Did this for each state that I knew the car had been registered in.

That’s a good idea, what were the fees like, and does each states paperwork show where it came from so you can keep tracing back?

Mershon's sold the car to my guy in LA. I gave them my info and asked them to reach out to who they got the car from and have them contact me.
They wouldn't give out any info and I totally understand. I really hope the previous owner will reach out to me.
