The black 1973 cars were ordered for a “rental car company” wink wink. I have the rental car company name. At least the ones from Hory Chevrolet out of NY.

Back to the original topic of this thread----Special Paint cars............
Attached is a pic of a trim tag and VIN from a '75, VIN 1Z67J5S417570. Car was painted pink at one time, as evidenced by the pink coloration surounding the edges of the trim tag. Might have been a Mary Kay car. Car is Mille Miglia Red now, and was for sale previously at Buyavette.com.
In addition, if you add up all of the widely published paint color production quantities 1975, the resulting total is 34,531. Total cars produced was 38,465. Data is missing for 3,934 cars and no, there were not 3,934 cars produced in primer or non-standard colors in 1975.
Code Exterior Paint Quantity
10 Classic White 8,007
13 Silver 4,710
22 Bright Blue 2,869
27 Steel Blue 1,268
42 Bright Green 1,664
56 Bright Yellow 2,883
67 Medium Saddle 3,403
70 Orange Flame 3,030
74 Dark Red 3,342
76 Mille Miglia Red 3,355
Total paint quantity 34,531
Total cars produced 38,465
Data missing for 3,934 cars
Thank you,
Guy

The Black 71 LT1 is documented by 20+ letters between GM overseas distribution and the Original buyer. IT has also been approved to be shown with Black paint without deduction in the NCRS.
