I can't add to much yet. I've installed the Vintage Air evaporator unit on the inside of the 70. I've intalled their variable resistor units that fit underneath the stock center console heater/air conditioner control panel. There is a slight interference of the evaporator housing and the passenger side dash panel. I haven't addreessed this issue yet.

I did remove all the engine portion of the factory air condition unit. That's freed up a lot of room in the engine. With the stock AC, the cold air plenum is about an inch away from the exhaust manifolds...grossly inefficient ploace to have the cold air plenum.

Hope to hear from people who've completed their installation.

Thinking about putting this in my 80, I'd like to hear about this as well.

I’m sure you’ve been looking but in the threads above yours there is a massive VA discussion, it may have some value for you.

They make good stuff. If I did the 81 again, I would do it.

New Vintage Air A/C Kit for 78-82????
Last time I visited their site they did not offer any AC kits for 78 and above???
If they do I'll most likely give them another look!!!

Any input from the group???

I would love to see a write-up of the SureFit kit on a 1980 C3. I am planning on doing this when I get back in country next summer!

For 78-82 vintage air - the site says pictures and instructions included - if anyone has purchased please share vintage air pics and instructions

I have decided to go this route on my ‘79, and am wanting to pre-stage the engine bay as much as I can while replacing radiator, radiator support, and bypassing the heater core.

How Are You,

thanks, the advert seemed to allude to more pictures, didn’t know if anyone had yet purchased and received any extra pictures. Will document when I get to mine.

Just got thru doing my 78 about 2 weeks ago, it is a chore but i also put in dynamat and dynaliner, Vintage says about 20 hours time, its more like 40, however I'm 60 yr old and aint as quick as I used to be, I love the Vintage air, I also wrapped my exhaust pipes from exhaust manifold to crossmember. I have no cabin floor heat unless the heater is on, this set up is great. I would recommend Vintage air for any C3
