Default 1970 big block for auction in Oklahoma

Please excuse if you saw this already but I thought this was pretty interesting

https://barnfinds.com/barn-find-1970...etter+(Instant)

Never heard of Mr Ed's auction company and if I read it right, auction is Nov 19 which is long time from now. But might be worth checking out if you are in the market. So the first question is frame rust?

I am not in the market. I am like the guy that said: "once I had some money but not now, I spent 1/2 of it on wine, women, song and Corvettes and the rest I just wasted" (with apologies to WC)

Cool car! Did anyone else notice that it does not have the correct '70 LS-5 hood? that one on it looks like an L-88 style. Also, four Goodyear Polyglass GT tires replaced the original Goodyear Speedway Special's within 10K miles (I can see the rears wearing out that fast!). Amazing that the original battery is still there!

Wicked cool. It appears the original hood comes with the car.

Very interesting car. With those pipes, it's obviously had some mods, but it looks to be mostly correct to me. That looks like the right hood on the car to me with the L88 copy leaning against the wall. It has an A/C compressor and I think I see the PS pump pulley. No power brakes, though. The stamp pad looks really good as well.

Thanks and I wonder why you would order all these options, PS, A/C, big block, deluxe interior, etc. and not get PB?

If the car has a true 10K miles and it's been parked indoors since 1973, there's a very good chance the tank sticker could be in place.

Looking at the car, I am skeptical. Fuel line cut with filter by block, obvious air cleaner movement. The water neck has been replaced, ignition shielding gone, PCV is gone. The biggest red flag that I see is headers at block show no sign of discoloring or rust/dirt. The chrome would discolor just from the heat at the heads, so likely hasn’t run since this were installed at best. The chrome on the side pipes wasn’t that good to begin with. I have a feeling there are engine issues that will be a surprise to someone that buys this.

Its a a decent car, but wouldn’t say time capsule or have false delusions it won’t need a lot of mechanical work.

This must be one of those "dust & dirt" are special, so don't wash it off so the buyers can seee the car clearly.
What would it hurt to run a hose over the outside? For that matter, hose off the engine compartment. Nope Dust & Dirt mean $$$$.
