17 or 18 in Rally wheels?
Hi all,
thinking of upgrading my wheelset... now I'm with 255/60 R15 stock rally wheels, trying to understand if it's better to go to 17 or 18 inches with rally wheels (American Racing or US Mags)... any picture of them to share??

15" rubber is good for street driving and not great for higher speed cornering / aggressive driving. Not many choices of rubber.
17" you have more choices of rubber
18" you have even more choices.
If its for looks only then nothing looks like the factory 15" wheel setup.

Look at your tire options in both 17" and 18". Decide what you want and then buy the wheels. I like to stick with tires that are 26.5" diameter at a minimum and I went with a 27.5" tall rear. If you go with too short of a sidewall with stiff suspension the ride gets rough fast. Are you planning on running a 4 the same size or running specific front/rear tires?

I can't imagine 18" Rally wheels are going to look at all right. They'll need some amount of rubber for aesthetic balance. Have you looked here?

17 full chrome rally. Flash wiped the shine so it looks black. Flares make the tire look really small. 18's next go around.

Barry, those wheels look great on your car. Would you mind providing more information? Tire size? Wheel manufacturer? Wheel size including back spacing if you know it. Thanks in advance. Chip.

There is NOT a trim ring on the wheels, it's part of the wheel itself.

I actually purchased from Jegs, their shipping was cheaper.

They are from YearOne. 17" x 8", with 4.5" BS (also available in 9" width). I have 1/2" spacers to bring the wheel out to stock location. Wheels come with center caps and wheel nuts. I've had these since 2015, no issues.
