Default How to remove 69-76 Park Brake Console

I'm must be missing something simple. I've removed the (4) side screws, but it seems to be hanging up against the back carpeted panel. Help please before I bust something.

There is a bolt you get access to from the middle rear compartment.

Good luck!

Center of back compartment - screw(s) go in toward front of car. (I believe that's what you are looking for!!)

Remove the jack and the removable bucket. The bolt has a 7/16" or 1/2" hex head on it. A 1/4" ratchet wrench and socket will remove the bolt from the backside of the bulkhead plate. It's a real PITA to remove that console, if you don't know about that bolt.

No ****. I didn't remove the jack bucket. I reached through a small opening in front of the glove box. Got the bolt (screw) out by feel but I pulled back a bloody stub. I'll take the jack bucket out for reassembly. It's Miller time.

EDIT: Someone? in a previous post suggested screwing a short stud in place of the rear bolt. THAT'S what I'm going to do. Certainly eliminates future frustration.
