My Dream of owning a 68-72 Corvette
I have been looking at buying my first C3 for 6-8 months. Read the stickies, trolled all your general discussion advice and have found one I like and am giving consideration of buying. I haven’t put eyes on the car and yet. But here are some pics

Looks like a very nice car.
1) I don't care for the rubber hose under the hood for the fuel filter
2) Check the date code of the tires. They may look good but can be old
3) I thought the same thing 454 emblem? (not on my car)
Good Luck

Looks like a great driver quality car! Note AC from factory but compressor is missing and looks like the heater core hose has been cut? Has manual brakes if that is an issue.

Hi Cd,
There appears to be a lot to like about that car.
BUT..... don't fall in love with it until you've gotten an in depth look at it and have driven it.
You need to understand what the car currently is in order to have an idea of what would be a wise amount of $ to pay for it.
It'll be interesting to hear your thoughts after seeing and driving it.
Regards,
Alan
If you're not familiar with 69 cars do you have a knowledgable person that can go with you?

It's a sharp looking car.....let's hope the frame/drivetrain look as good.
FYI: As for the $20,000....I rebuilding a basketcase. By the time I put decent (not show quality) paint on it I will have nearly $20,000 in the car (it's a keeper).

I have thought about a C5 or C6 and I know they are much much better cars from almost every angle, but when I look at them I feel nothing. When I look at a chrome bumpered C3 I just love it!

Same owner sense 1971 58k Miles and a member of a local Corvette club. 2 resprays. It’s not perfect and once I put my eyes on it I might change my mind. Talking to the guy tho it sure feels like a great old Vette and the 68-69 are my faves.

Be sure to pull the kick panels and check for birdcage rust.
Looks like a 70 hood.
Check the kick ups by the trailing arms.
Open the fuel tank and look in for rust.
If the price is right can be a fun ride and a great start.
