Choke Part Number (GM)
Can someone please tell me the correct GM part number for the 71-74 350 choke thermostat depicted here?

Thanks!
PS: Looks to me like the rod hook up is about at 5 O-clock right?
I ordered on from an online vendor and received one with the rod hook up at 3 O-clock.

Hi CC,
The number stamped on the original bi-metallic spring from my 71 is 3792.
My bet would be that you can use the one that you received.
Hooking up the rod will 'tighten' the coil a little, but the heat will still have the same affect on it... it uncoils as the temperature rises and the rod will open the choke plate.
Regards,
Alan

The Corvette parts book lists different choke springs for 70-74 350's with a Q-Jet.

Thanks to both of you.
I just manually wound the spring a bit tighter, and when it relaxed it came back to 4 O-clock. One more try (a bit harder) and it relaxed to 5 O-clock where it belongs.
