I really have no idea. The car has less than 82,000 original miles but I'm pretty sure the engine was rebuilt or modified at some point because there is paint on the VIN stamp. My best guess is it was done about 10-15 years ago based on the documentation the PO gave me. I don't really know what a stock L-46 sounds like. It's an 11:0-1 compression ratio which as I understand it helps give it that sharp V8 sound. I love how it sounds.

Thanks for the response. Yes compression will provide a crisp sound. Again - enjoy - looks and sounds great!

Congrats on the '69! Nice to see another C3 in McKinney, several of us running around.

Looks very nice and should be a great car to enjoy. I agree on the value of Vintage Air but be forewarned of project creep! In early June decided to have VA installed, while on the lift spotted a pin hole in a freeze plug, knew I was going to replace the bell housing due to a major crack, well this far might as well replace a leaking pan gasket, and on and on. Block is now in the machine shop getting freshened up and June trip with wife on route 66 to Chicago may? be a late September trip and if that works out following 66 to the Pacific in 2018. My advise, you will find things that need repair and then enjoy the heck out it. Going down the road will put a smile on your face as well as many of the folks that see you having fun. Good luck

Congratulations on your recent purchase. Great looking Vette. L-46 is a great engine option!
