Default Box Lot of C3 Headlights

I bought a mushroom basket full of old C3 headlight bulbs from a body shop auction . They are very dusty and dirty. Would it hurt them electrically if I ran them through the kitchen dishwasher ?

Nope, unless they are cracked which makes them useless anyway.
It might hurt when your wife finds out.

It shouldnt if they are sealed, hence sealed beam. But do it when the wife, Girl friend, significant other is away from the house or it'll hurt you. Like it hurt me when I got tired of cleaning the spokes wheel covers on my '78 Caprice Landau.

Peace,,,,moosie

Hi 71,
I wouldn't be so quick.
From what I read old T-3s often fail the first time they're turned on because the seals have deteriorated.
I think the dishwasher might be hard on what may already be compromised seals.
I'd clean them up in a less 'chancy' way.
Regards,
Alan

Although "Pyrex" type glass, it might not like the heat dry.
They are pretty durable items, but now 40 years old.
Let me know, I have a box of NCRS correct lamps as well.

Not to mention the date stamps, and any original markings will probably be lost. Why risk losing such a great find? Any pictures of the lot?

They'll be worth more if you sell them as C2 headlights.

I think the heat from the dishwasher would damage the seals. Why chance it ? Clean them by hand.
