T10 or TH400 in '75 Coupe
I'm going through a '75 Coup, L48 car, TH400 original. The motor is junk and the transmission is original. It moves under it's own power, sorta, but I couldn't get it above 20mph or so to fully test the transmission. The frame and body are perfect, it's getting new paint this winter.
I also have a '79 parts car, with a T10. That car has a crate motor. I personally drove it about 20 miles around town. The frame is swiss cheese.
Personal preferences aside, what do you think would be more desirable in a non-numbers matching resto mod? The TH400 or the T10 ?

Yeah, I've got both cars. I'm probably going to lift the body off the '79 and store it out back, that way I can physically move stuff to the '75 while the '75 is on my lift. I figure I can remove parts, into the blaster, paint, and bolt on.
I'm on the fence about the T10 vs the TH400. I kinda liked driving the '79, after not having a stick car for a few years. But if I do decide to sell the '75 down the road, I want to make sure it's not less desirable with the T10. I know a '75 vette isn't worth much to begin with.

I think manual cars tend to sell higher from what I can see. Possibly a few less interested buyers, but there's a lot of buyers (and I'm one) for whom auto is just not an option, and this, combined with the smaller number of manual cars vs autos, seems to push the price up a bit on the manuals. Again, in my opinion, and from what I can see looking at cars for sale.

Not that I'm an authority or even representative of the majority of the Corvette owning population, but I never would have considered the purchase of my Vette if it was equipped with an automatic. Rowing the gears myself was one of the main criteria for purchase. :-)
