Any other early 71 LS5's like thoyer that have chrome valve covers and not painted orange steel covers ? I remember seing a real early 71 somewhere on the net with chrome covers also.
My 71's vin is 716. it has chrome valve covers and this fan. are they both 70 parts ?
The fan in the pictures I think is from my post earlier, but should be one like that for an Air car. There is one on eBay currently with correct style fan clutch for close to $700 as I recall. Chrome valve covers were possible on early 71's.

thanks Yes I took the fan pic off the thread as it was better then my picture on the car. I have been seeing several 71's then had different fans so I was getting nervous that my car was pieced together. I had found that it has a manual trans starter instead of the correct one.

Nice vettes ! Has anyone ever seen the last number changed or re stamped on there engine stamp pad number. My car is 8898. Numbers match. Cool! But the last number was clearly a 7 then restamped 8. And to an early post. No chrome valve covers, has snorkel air cleaner Auto car
