Default *******' Stingray?

This is a wreck of a car, but that interior! It echoes of former glory. It makes me curious to take some measurements and see if it's possible it could have been used for... uh... recreational activities usually reserved for bench seats. This might top the list for strangest mod I've seen. I've seen other wagon conversions, but never like this.

People do some crazy things with these cars. Here's a link to the rest of the photos.

Its almost like the head of a squid/octopus that is missing the tentacles...

Here, I'll fix it. I present to you, the "Squidray" or "Squid-Ray", whatever is more marketable.

Gotta admit though, the more I see it, the more I.... well....

Is it possible to go far enough in the "wrong" direction on planet kooky that you end up... right?

IF somebody here gets it and plans to restore "Octopussy" to her former 70s custom glory...
I'll chip in $100.

Maybe we can crowd source the "Man, what were we on?" restoration project.

I just ran across this the other day, listed as "Chevrolet Corvette Sportwagon Ecklers conversion":
http://www.autotraderclassics.com/cl...tionId=1881062
I actually thought it was pretty cool in an odd way.

I think it would be cool to build a well done wagon. If I lived close, I would at least go look at it....

The red one above is listed with a $23ask. The Octopussy is $1100. I don't think you could make Octopussy into as nice as the red one looks for $22K... am I wrong?

Ahhh the SEVENTIES, you just had to be there... When I got my '71 Coupe in '79
I wanted to put one of those on it. Luckily I was a broke student and couldn't afford it.
