Chrome Spray on Fiberglass Covers
I have seen some videos of some companies that spray a nice looking chrome finish on fiberglass items. Has anyone tried this on fiberglass side pipe covers? THANKS!

Hi RA,
All the "chrome like" finishes I've seen in person look like…. well… "chrome like".
If there was indeed a 'chrome finish' for the side exhaust covers I don't think you'd see so many body color, black, and various 'metal' color, side pipe covers.
Regards,
Alan

Personally I do not believe that any non plating electro process will ever beat real chrome plating which is of course not all the same, look at the crappy flash chrome that rusts before we get the part on the car.
After seeing chrome cars I did a bit of research on the newer modern "spray" chrome finishes, again many of the good ones vary according to F'Mike some while sprayed on still use electricity,
I have seen some used on things like motorcycle parts and the results while yeah, "chrome-like" comes to mind it sure isn't the horrible spray can chrome of the 70's.
Some is really great looking and I could see something like the stock side pipe covers a great place to try it the bike parts looked like real chrome plating until you get really picky and closer.
Just like with real chrome plating the end results depend on the prep and finish of the part....
I plan to use it on my fake fiberglass 68- 72 bumpers,
Still hunting google for which brand I will try.

There is such a thing as chrome plated plastic. I dunno if easier or harder than metal.
