Default Steering wheel cover

Not that I want to go this route however my steering wheel is sticky as hell. I grab a hold of it and I get all this black crap all over my hands. I need a quick fix. I tried searching for one ( specific to the vette ) but cant really find anything?!! Anyone know where I can get one or does anyone have any tricks to make my steering wheel stop crapping on my hands>??? Thanks!

My wheel was off because I painted the column, I used dish soap in the sink and it seems to be ok.

I used Fast Orange hand cleaner on mine and it worked for me.
I had the cleaner in the garage while working on the restoration,
and just tried it and it worked.

This is what I had, you can get it at any auto parts.

I had the same problem with the wheel in my '74. I sent my wheel to Chuck Pelton in Michigan and he added some padding and covered the wheel in matching leather. He can be reached at this number 248 681-4336.

you can buy a leather wrap for $10 on ebay.
the problem is our wheels are smaller thickness Dia.
I wrap around once to measure diameter, cut off excess in 1 piece.
repunch matching holes in leather, on newly cut side.
sew it up, if your nice your wife might sew it up for you !

Did my wrap myself. Takes a while to thread the loops - thread, pull thru, pull tight, repeat......Feels much better.
