I'm 25 and I bought my '82 when I was 21. Most people are surprised I have a Corvette. I've been told many times that I am a "good girl" for owning a Corvette.
I even learned to get my hands dirty and work on it myself. Thankfully I have my dad to go to when I really get stuck on something. Still have A LOT to learn yet.

73. Sold a Camaro to buy the 75 Corvette in 97. Completely restored the interior & still do my own repairs.
Too much time & sweat invested to let it go now.

I'm 55 and bought my first Vette—a 1968 Coupe—when I was 19. I saw Corvette Summer that same year and had to have one.
I did not keep that car too long (dumbass kid), and then purchased a 1971. Sold it too, only to buy another '71 immediately thereafter. Drove than one for a while, then traded it for another vehicle.
In the early '80s I was living in North Miami Beach, and I purchased a 1976 Vette. Drove and enjoyed the heck out of it. Owned that one for a couple of years and then sold it to buy a 1982 Firebird S/E.
Fast forward to late 2014, when I decided it was time to get another C3. So I purchased a project car, even though I know darn well that projects cost (at least) twice as much as originally budgeted, and take three times as long as originally estimated, so I sold it earlier this year and bought my sixth C3: a 1976 Stingray, but this one is a 4-speed manual tranny car, which was a must-have.
This one is a keeper, and I will continue making it perfect. For me.
Corvettes are special. I really love all generations, but C3s are my thing. And from all the looks and thumbs-up I get almost every time I drive it, I know that most (if not all) people like them, too. Even young kids like Vettes! A while back a young girl (I am guessing 10 or 12) yelled, as I drove by: "I LOVE YOUR CAR!"
A few days earlier, as I worked on the car in my garage, a couple of kids walked by on their way home from school. One of them gave me a thumbs-up and said, "Nice car!" He then proceeded to tell his buddies, "I've always liked older Corvettes." Cracked me up and warmed my heart. These kids were probably 14 years old. LOL.
I also like the fact that (almost) every time I see another Corvette on the road, regardless of generation, drivers wave at me. I always wave back, of course.
We are fortunate to own, and share with others, a vehicle that truly represents The American Dream!

Your Batness, just an observation here. Bloomington Gold looks like a Cue Tip convention. I remember B.G. 1995 like it was yesterday, maybe it was yesterday? Everyone had white hair. They all looked like Cue Tips. Bat thread sub plot: Will B.G. survive and grow? It seems like a tall order to get younger peeps to become dues paying members when they can't afford so many of the cars. Just an opinion, but it seems like BG is still, "C-2's.....and others." Money drives everything, and mostly C-2's. Please share results of your 'ownership age' survey by percentage instead of hard numbers..

I'll be 68 in August. Bought my first vette, a '69, when I was 22. First wife told me the car had to go. Turns out I should have kept the car and gotten rid of the wife! Bought my current '70 in 2005. Love working on it!

58 and just purchased my first C3 - 1979. My first Corvette was a 1990 purchased in 1994 and sold about 5 years later.
Always liked the C3 body style. Just waited for the right low mileage, clean and unmolested car to show itself.

I am 32
Bought my first Corvette when I was 20 (1976)
Sold that one after I got married and moved at age 22.
Picked up my second Corvette when I was 25 (1973 auto)
Someone offered me stupid money for it and sold it at age 29
Picked up my current Corvette the next summer at age 30 and plan to hold onto this one for a long time (1973 4 speed).

Always wanted a C1 since I was 12. I'm 46 - bought my first (59) two years ago at 44. Started on a frame off restoration within 2 weeks of taking delivery. Still working on the restoration but will finish later this year. Frame and undercarriage is all done and currently blocking and sanding the body to prep for paint which should happen later this month. So getting down to the wire on finishing. Loving every minute of the restoration process. Also just bought a C3 (80) from our neighbor about a month ago. My other love (other than my hubby) is a 76 Jeep CJ5 (full frame off restoration 5 years ago). I think I've got the bug...and bad! Lol. Jill
