It might be this clamp, mine holds both hoses.

my ac hose is in that clamp. maybe I should boot the ac hose off the island and in other words take the ac hose out and put both hoses in that clamp.I don't know.

Default heater hose routing

im glad you guys are on this subject today. im redoing my hoses on the 68 327 w-air.i looked in the assm. manl. it doesnt show me correct way.i may go under the compressor,,.looks cleaner that way. i dont see the bracket though.but, i am using the gates -shape-n-fit-hoses.with the wires in them,so they wont bend or kink,,and would keep them in position nicely....actually today i found my overheating problem,,my 3/4 hose at the heater core was not the correct style, and had folded over,,like a garden hose when kinked.putting them on now,,feeling real good about finding bent hose finally..cant wait too see if it stops overheating.but i truely believe im good too go.see you all later.

The routing of belts and hoses for cars with air conditioning are shown in the A.I.M. in the section for optional equipment. Look under sheets pertaining to C60 (air conditioning) option at the rear of the book.

I'm on the same issue but I found that in the corvette 71 AIM :

As you can see the hose coming from the shut off valve route over the compressor and looking at the direction, should goes under the air filter snorkel

Hi ab,
I believe you'll find that the sheet you pictured with the heater hoses routed above the compressor is for a car equipped with a 454 engine. C60 D6
The route for the hoses on a car with a 350 engine is below the compressor. C60 D14
The AIM can be very tricky on occasion.
Regards,
Alan
