Default Original 350 timing tab!? Spot welded or bolted?

For once... I can't seem to find my answer on google or on the forums...
This doesn't happen really often!

I wanted to know what was the original timing tab on the 8'' balancer of a 350 engine...
Most of the pictures I find are the kind of adjustable/boltable tab but SOME pictures shows welded tab (like on the 6'' on of a 327 engine)

So... what was the orginal tab?

thanks a lot!

Hey Solid,

I believe it was up through 1980 that they had the welded on tab.

There are no reproductions with the correct cover that I know of, so used is your best choice. Be sure to get the correct cover that is used with an 8" balancer, other small block applications only had a 7" balancer.

Thanks a lot! I'm looking for a 1968 cover, so welded it should be!
I have one for a 327 with a welded tab but it had the small balancer. I need one for the bigger 8'' balancer, any input would be appreciated!

thanks a lot
