First off, it's not done. Im working on the interior now. Not shown in these pics. It's not all original. The body and frame are original. The block is the same the car was born with. The trans is the original muncie m20. The rest is a combo of original parts and repop stuff. I never intended to build a factory correct restoration. I wanted a nice healthy gen 1 engine. I wanted the body to look original. Except for the paint, my late wife loved green, myself I pictured it in black. And since Im still mourning her recent loss, black it became. I wanted updated suspension parts, nothing radical, I went with a grand touring kit. Everything has been rebuilt. Name it, its been gone through. No stone unturned. It is essentially a brand new 72. Heres a few of what Ive been doing for the past 4 yrs. Things left to do, adjust ride height once interior is in. Work a few drivability issues out, and then just drive the hell out of it. Oh and that gen 1 engine? Yeah, its freaking healthy!

3 years and alot of hours. I did everything myself except replating the side exhaust covers. 1969 L46 coupe, power steering, brakes, tilt tele, am fm stereo, and leather. Engine is not original however block and heads are era correct. I want to give alot of credit to Alan 71. His photos and sharing of accurate information on this forum were invaluable in this restoration. The car had been painted white on 2 occasions over the original riverside gold. I striped the body back to bare fiberglass and brought it back to riverside gold.

Thanks for the complement Thegravel I soon learnt that it is overwhelming to look at the whole car but better to break each job down to one area at a time and turns out much better .I had to do the wheel bearings so while I a am doing them might as well do trailing arm bushes ,brakes ,parking brakes ,universal joints ,suspension ,leaf springs etc .the shipping is the only down fall with buying parts .I reckon the $30000 I have spent so far at least $10000 is on shipping .But love working on the car put at least 1000 hrs in so far and still can not see the end yet. It is the best project I have taken on .I will need another one when this one is done or I will go crazy
