What did you do to your C3 today?
I purchased new vacuum actuators and hoses for the headlights and wiper door. The previous owner had taken all vacuum components out for headlights and put electric in for lights and left nothing for wipers. Also purchased correct 4sp shifter it had a hurst shifter in it which I hated ( the Stars had to align to get the thing in reverse, because it didn't have a T handle to lift to put into reverse.
What did you guys and gals do?

Melting Slicks
First Time Drive
I finally got to drive her for the first time (EVER) today. 16 years ago I pulled her out of a leaky pole barn in northeastern Ohio, brought her home on a U-Haul car trailer, and pushed her into the garage. She was in pretty bad condition, as ALL of the metal parts were badly rusted, thus began a seemingly endless frame off restoration. My health has declined quite a bit, and I have suffered the loss of two brothers, two sisters, my youngest daughter, and two of my best friends over these past 16 years. It is truly amazing how time can slip away. Four months ago I committed myself to finishing the car by the end of Summer, though I still have a few minor things to button up, she is finally road worthy. All major systems are functioning like new, as well they are!

I cleaned it up with Griots Speed Shine. Due to my wife needing the Avalanche and her Monte Carlo at a Chevy dealership in the city where the alternator died, I had to use it as a daily driver.
Would not have been so bad if it had not been 10 degrees out during those couple days!!

Carb rebuild
Quadrajet rebuild with a full kit from Cliffs High Performance. Cliff is fantastic and I actually found I had the wrong gaskets installed from the previous owners rebuild. Cliffs baseplate and air horn gaskets were correct and the car runs 10X better. Carb was '73 factory replacement.

Mine is not in sub zero temps, but I like having the winter months to wrench on the car and don't have to be in a hurry cuz the sun is out and I am missing out on good quality behind the wheel time.

I removed the body last Sunday and finally started disassembly today. Removed the gas tank, brake lines, fuel lines misc. clips, mouse nest from inside the frame and made a shopping list, which I am now working on.

Bought a 383 stroker short block, Comp 282 roller cam, 1.6 full roller rockers, dual quad tunnel ram, two 500 cfm Holleys, and a carburetor scoop. I've already got the RPM heads waiting for them.
Hopefully I'll get it all assembled in the next few weeks.

I found out i have no cruise because a long speedo cable was used to replace the transducer... and that it has fallen out of my speedo housing so now i get to decide, fix it/replace it, or try and fix cruise control...
I fixed my sagging T tops so now each corner is flush
I fixed the passenger window alignment so now window sits inside the weather strip guide and should leak
I found out my power door locks dont work as passenger side grounds were cut, and there was no door lock actuators...
I fixed the driver headlight that were not raising, the high beam light had fallen from its mounts and was catching on the frame. I then realized the whole headlight support bracket was catching on the frame so bonnet off and it was re adjusted and work fine now. Along the way i see the filter and the 2 way valve are broken so they will be replaced.
My horn doesnt work and i found it was missing the 5 finger plastic retainer and the 3 piece pin that grounds the horn, they are on order...
Now the radio, air con, cruise, instrument lights need to be fixed

Burning Brakes
Fixed a problem with the fuel seeping out of the duel inlet pipe on my double pumper, then took it for a drive to the auto parts store where it seems to get some attention. I'm waiting anxiously for my steeroids rack and pinion conversion to arrive!

This morning I tried to start the engine with the new distributor I put in the other night. After trouble shooting I determined the distributor was DOA. Put the old one back in and fired it up. I just didn't have time to drive it today though, maybe tomorrow.
