1977 center gage bezel

Melting Slicks
A 1977 bezel has extra material on the sides near the bottom.
It can be cut off if you want to use it on a later model.
The 78-82 will fit on a 77, it will just have a little gap where the extra material is missing.

What are you wanting to do, car48nut? The only difference in the 77 and 78-82 bezels are the lower corners. 77s were one year only because of the use of the older style dash pads. You can order a reproduction 77 bezel and not have any fit problems.

As far as "later parts" needed to use a 78-82 bezel in a 77, and not have the gap, you'd need a complete 78-82 dash. It would be a lot easier and cheaper, to buy the repro 77 bezel for around $85.

You can bolt the 78 bezel right in, but as bruiser said, you'll have a gap between the bezel and the dash. The little "wings" on the bottom sides of the 77 bezel, are not there on 78-82 bezels (see the enlarged area in bruiser's photo).
