I know a fellow who was around greenwood when this hood was invented, orginally it didn't have vents on the sides the center is a 80 style hood raised the side pods were mocked up with 2x4"s, he has an old busted up one off one of the race cars.
So you want to add a small L-88 on top of this or?

2022 C3 of the Year Finalist - Modified
Here it is on the midyear hood,
Take a close look it has the beautiful 68-72 BB / LT-1 scoop in front with the dips left in, ( I thing it ruins the look to fill the dips ) yet in the rear it looks like a 67 BB scoop and gives a bit of room for the air cleaner,
I rooted around Google last night and saw this scoop on a couple other non vette cars but can not find who built it...very cool would love to find one

This is basically what I'm planning to make this winter.
I heard Vanacor did make a LT-1 long hood, but they're gone.

The owner of this hood hit me back and said it was custom made bb / lt-1 up front and 67 427 in rear, hum, lots of work if that's the case,
I cant find the car now but two nights ago on cl doing 700 miles of 32804 was a full custom c3 with this hoodscoop so..double hum.
The owner of this c2 hood wants 795.00 for it, lol I don't see that happening soon....

Thank guys. The scoop was already grafted on the hood when I got the car, but it wasn't blended too well and the underside and the inlet were a wreck. I had planned on an L88, but figured I could make this one look nice. So to answer your questions, it didn't cost me a thing, but I spent a lot of time on it. I like the fact that it's very functional and provides about 1/2 clearance (400, RPM Air Gap, PJIII EFI and a 3x14" round air cleaner). It actually looks better in person than the painted pic. I really like it, but it's a bit aggressive looking...good and bad imo.
I thought the motion hoods were built using the '67 BB scoop on the 68-72 BB/LT-1 hoods...? True? same scoop? I thought it was kind of cool since the '68s shared some '67 bits...

Safety Car
Motion-ish hood with dips...
....made by a company in Calif. (I don't know if they are still in business) but these come up from time to time. I no longer own it.

Here is mine, I used to have a giant hole in the hood I cut out for my tunnel ram. Then I installed a Pro Flo XT I had been sitting on for 7 years, and decided to keep the hood since it has sentimental value for me. (I bought it when I was 18 back in the 80's, it took me 6 weeks to save up for it working at a gas station!)
So I found a fiberglass scoop that would fit and shortened it up, and I am going to shallow up the turbo cutouts 1 inch deep and cut vents in the turbo scoops, the front and back of the center scoop and either bend some mesh or design some small cnc cut aluminum grills to fill in all the holes. Lots of work!!
Car will be GM black when finished, in about 10 or 20 years! haha... sigh..

Thanks Bats, this hood has a long history. One story worth telling, when I lived in Ohio I had it sitting outside my garage under the eaves against the wall when my car was in pieces. One day i'm out in the back fields on my quad and I find it a quarter mile away in some bushes, not a scratch on it, no damage! I guess a bad storm picked it up and it went for a long *** ride and had a soft landing... Talk about a WTF moment!
