Default Thinking about new wheels for 80

I've been thinking about new wheels for my 1980 and kinda like the look of the "Centennial Cup" wheels for 93-2002 Camaro. Unfortunately, I can't find whether or not these will fit on my stock 80 without modification. They're 17x8.5 but I also can't find what backspace they are.

Any help?

you will need spacers/adapters to make them fit. not sure if you'll need like 2 or 2.5 inch spacers but not a direct bolt on.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like I'll go back to the search for 17 or 18" wheels. I want to avoid the torque thrusts. I'm just NOT in love with them.

Your problem is the backspacing. 93 to 02
Camaro/ firebirds wheels in both 8" and 9" widths have like a 6 7/8" bs and C3's have a 4" bs. Don't let spacer/adapters stop you from getting them I have 2013 c6 rims with a 3.25 spacers in back

Look at the Boss line of wheels. Made by Eagle Alloy in USA. Here are my 338 with 9 1/2 on rear. 8" on front 18" Only had to relocate the rear emergency bracket bracket, no spacers.

Went with riddler 18x9.5 with 4.5 offset all around. Awesome

Changing wheels is tricky on any car. I'd say 80% of the 17" or bigger wheels people put on older cars look bad. They either have too much or too little sidewall, stick out of the wheel wells, or the stance of the car is just wrong. I think your best bet is finding a late C3 with wheels that you think look great, getting the details on the wheel/tire combination and then duplicating that. Let someone else be the guinea pig.

What size tires would you suggest on 17 or 18" wheels to avoid looking bad?

Btw..I never said I didn't like the TTII style of wheel..I was just not in love with them. Now if they made a 17/18" YJ8 style aluminum wheel I'd be first in line to order.

Thanks for the responses/suggestions. The pictures look great.

You have the right amount of accessories on that car to make those wheels look good on it
