Default electric water pump

hello
I have installed an electric meziere 55gpm water pump to my 355 sbc. Before I got it running cool after 3 different radiators and 5 fan setups and trying different thermostats/res. plates and radiator caps I finally got the car to run at a constant temp but before to keep cool I took off thermostat and have yet to put it back on. My question is can an electric w/p work good with the thermostat or would it be holding it back building pressure. What mixture for water and antifreeze or water wetter would you guys recommend. vehicle has aluminum heads and radiators. I'm trying to figure it out because I heard that some a/f will eat up seals and what not and trying to see your guys experience. Since this last time I finally got it running at a decent temp I haven't really played with the thermostat and plates again as I do not want to force the wp to overwork if you get what im saying. I'm just trying to get some clarification. any thoughts on this or help greatly appreciated.
thanks

Additional information. Car is running at a steady 195 to 210 depending on traffic condition and speed. Fans are set to turn on at 185 and shut off at 180 with sensor on radiator. But according to my temp gauge which is connected to heads and after market gauge connected on opposite side they turn on at about 200 degrees( I had put 2 temp gauges because I was being told by mechanic my gauge was incorrect that car was not overheating and water spilling out of recovery tank was normal) but after changing sending unit a couple before found out my gauge was correct but a thread I found here gave me more piece of mind and I used unit they recommended. the rad and fans are from dewitts

Davies craig make an electric water pump controller. It varies the speed of the pump to regulate the temperature. I believe they run without the thermostat.

There is something very wrong with this car if you're having this much trouble keeping it cool.

Absolutely you can and should run a thermostat with the Meziere.

Are you running distilled water in your aluminum radiator or water out of a hose?

I am running 50/50 antifreeze. Should I just run distilled water only. Car is running fine now just wondering if a thermostat would overwork it. Or what liquid is good for it not to rust out or damage seals. I heard of some Nascar type radiator fluid but can't find any locally

Stop overthinking things. Run 50/50 and a thermostat.

thanks. It is a one wire alternator set up. The plug in socket was hidden somewhere in all the wiring. I asked if it made a difference between one wire and 3 wire they told me the one wire was internal regulated or something of that sort was my understanding. the rest of the wires were rerouted. The alternator also has movable brackets and was the last one I could find as it was "discontinued" years ago so I hope it last. I am planning on doping away with the steel braided hoses and using the black braided ones with AN fittings and using s/s or aluminum tube for radiator hoses still looking though for some ideas out there.
