Out of the mouth of babes
After supper tonight I ventured out to work on the corvette, unzipped the front flap of the Shelter Logic, rolled it up, and my girl's son who is 6 had a friend over, he wandered over and said " woah, that looks like a real cool car" I looked over at him and said, " yeah , that IS a real cool car "
Even at 6 the C3 looks badass sitting up on jack stands with no engine lol

I see small kids holding their mom's hand always slowing to take a look. The mother wonders what's going on and eventually will turn and look. Kind of amazing at such an early age.

I was at a convenience store one time. A kid, maybe 5 or 6 asks his mom "What kind of car is that? Is it a race car?"
She says "I don't know", then they get into a Prius. Even at his young age, he knows that the Vette is WAY cooler then the car he was getting into.
BTW... I always let kids sit in it when I'm at shows. I just want to plant a seed for the future generation.

Came out of O'Reillys auto last week and this lady has her two kids in front of the vette taking there picture. She said her husband had a vette in the 70s and raced it.
The kids had a blast.

A week after my car was painted (in Texas), I went to a car show and we were going to head back to Florida that evening. I wanted to load the Vette onto the trailer after getting back from the show so I could have it ready to go when we were ready to leave. I still needed to pick up my oldest son (7yo) from his mom's house so he could come with us for the summer. I told him that I was going to be at a car show (asked if he wanted to go, but he declined...THIS time. I won't stop asking him), and he said that he wanted me to pick him up in the Vette. His mom and I agreed on evening time, so it wasn't so hot out for the trip. So I got everything ready to go, then got a message from her that he was ready, so I headed over to get him, and this is one of the best smiles I have ever seen from him:
We are moving to Orlando in Sep so I can continue my schooling at UTI. Hopefully we'll meet at a meet sometime, Harris.

If I crank mine up they come running begging for a ride. 14, 7, 5, and 3 yr old boys. The 14 and 7 yr old ask to make "tire noise" and also the 14 yr old can't wait for school to start so I can drop and pick him up. Whenever I mess with it they are crawling around sweating along with me. Gotta love the bonding. I know my wife sees that and she just smiles. Anyway I can keep them from just watching tv or playing video games I am happy. My dad always had me outside doing something. Either fishing, camping, building motors, etc and I am thankful for that. Time to do the same.

I like seeing the younger generation interested in learning about mechanical things, some things you just cannot learn in front of a video game.

It never hurts to expose the kids to good old tinkering. At this point my 8 year old boy has already gone through his collection of toy cars and picked out every Corvette and has displayed them in my den (along with my collection of Vette stuff). My 12 year old daughter can identify the differences between a 74 and a 75 by looking at them!
Both of them jump an every opportunity to go for a ride or attend a cruise night or show now. Only one at a time though!

My four year old grandson was scared of it when I started it up. He refused to come near it. But as they left that day he told his Mom that he liked Grandpas fast car. It hadnt even left the garage, but that C3 looks like its doing 90 sitting still.

the 2 C3s that i test drove w/ my son (78 & 80), looked like they are going a 100 sitting still, and when the motor starts, my son jumped, he thought it was LOUD. and it was loud! he is 10. i should post pics from those fun adventures...
