How to install 1976 Driver's Side Astro Vent Ball?
The Drivers side Dash Pad is missing the the Astro Vent Ball. I have a new one but can't seem to figure out how to get it in...

Really? I found an old Corvette Fever magazine article which showed how to replace the map pocket ball then in the article said clearly said replacing the drivers side would be MUCH harder. Then offered no instruction.
It really just pops in? That would be great.

Turn it mostly sideways so that the openings in the ball reduce its profile, then itjust pops right out. Does on my 72 anyhow.

Turn the ball so the vent openings are side-to-side; push it in the opening (it's pretty easy); turn it back to face the passenger.

OK. Lemme see if it pops in. That would be awesome...

I can not imagine any way that you could just pop in in from the front... even putting them in from the back side is difficult because of the 43 y/o brittle plastic retaining rings..
Good luck.

Just did this on drivers side last weekend. PO installed new ball and felt seals. Ball was so tight with new felt seals it could hardly be turned . Got it tuned so vents faced up and down and I was able to pull it out.
