Default water pump question

Can someone tell me if the water pump on a 74 350, L48 is the long or short? I an wanting to get either a polished aluminum or chrome one.

No Vettes use a long water pump regardless of the engine.....if you use the long pump its wrong.....

Corvettes also have the larger 3/4" diameter shaft.

That's part of it. The whole story is the '71-'82 smallblock Corvette pump is unique. Beyond the larger pump shaft, it is also 3/8" longer than the short pump. This means the existing accessory drives will not line up if you try to use a standard Chevy short pump and the fan clutch flange will not pilot on the hub.
