Back surgery and corvettes
Well I'm officially 4 days post operative for a major spine overhaul. And. I can think about while I sit in my hospital bed are my two corvettes. I'm i nuts. I got two wonderful kids and a great family and all I can do is dream about the next time I get behind the wheel of my wicked 82 restomod and 2006 ls2.

Family and health and kids first, after that you can do a drop top vette and clock 80 mph on some freeway.....top down and cruising with hair in the wind.....
well in MY case, MY hair is so thin, it's bald.....hell with it, get a skin massage.....

Spinal Surgery Dilema
I have had a 5 level spinal fusion with pins, plates, screws, rods, and even bone graphs. I loved my '94 C4 and hated to do it but I upgraded to a C6. Not out of necessity completely, but just comfort and practicality. I do miss that beautiful torch red targa top coupe everyday though.

I also had level 5. Pins rods screws. You name it it in there. The c6 is a lot lower than my c3. But it's a more civilized ride. I took the c6 for a 8 hour drive last month and flipped on the seat heaters and it was like a rolling heating pad.
One of the questions I asked my doc was am going to have to sell my car. Once he was done laughing he said absolutely no. just give your self enough time to heal properly. Can't wait

Best of luck with your recovery. You will be back in the Vettes. Very tough when you are not well to think positive, but you need to. Keep the faith

I had 5 laminectomies and 3 weeks later I was back in and opened up again because I was leaking spinal fluid. 4 months later, I was pulling the engine and swapping in a new one. So by all means, don't give up on your Corvette life. Behave yourself now and get healed up. Best of luck.

Really glad to hear there are effective surgical treatments for major back issues. I have spondylosis in my neck and degenerative disk disease in my lower back. For the first time in my life (57 yrs) I will go on short term disability for severe back pain. I am so tired of taking Vicodin for pain management. Can't get in to see a spine specialist until Nov 5th. I'm hoping for a permanent solution after that.
Thanks for posting your spinal surgery success stories!

Hug your kids. Kiss your wife. Listen to your doctor and rehab techs. It will all come into place and hopefully life will get back to normal.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Once you heal..............Gentler springs and shocks if necessary (that's what I'm having to do to make it easier on the spine).

It's been almost 8 weeks post op and it's amazing. No more pain working on my flexibility. Still haven't driven any vettes yet but I'm getting close. Getting out of a c6 ain't easy.

I had a couple injections 3 weeks ago while at the specialist and was stunned by the increase in range of movement! I was looking for traffic to change lanes on the way home and I could actually move my neck! For a couple days it was like having a new neck! Unfortunately, it doesn't last long. Back to the specialist again next Friday.
