Default Pics Requested: side shots of Hooker, OBX or XS sidepipes

Specifically, I'm looking for pics of a '68 or '69 with the aftermarket sidepipes, but any and all are welcomed. I've got a '68 and trying to decide if I like the black '68/'69 rocker or the aluminum found on '70+. Trying to determine which color contrast I prefer. For reference, I've got the stainless Hookers. Thanks, Rob

Thanks,
I know there are a lot of sidepipe pics on the forum, but its tough to find good shots that show the contrast between the pipes and the rocker. My originals will need some work and paint so I figured before I go do that, I need to see if its really what I want. With these types of exhaust I think I'm leaning towards the aluminum rockers...just looks less busy but I think that depends on exhaust and body color...

Go with the black rocker panels to offset the stainless pipes. Not a chrome bumper but gets the point across. See my photobucket link for more.

Hi Rob,
This isn't very detailed but quickly available. Aluminum rockers with the black highlight:

I have enjoyed these on my car, if only to frustrate or p***-off the local progressive tree-huggers. They hate them and I don't.

Good luck with your choice.

I don't have any pictures as mine are not on the car at the moment. But I have the hooker header sidepipe set that I had powder coated/heat treated to match the inner color on the new rims. I have the same rims as post 6 here and I hope the side pipes will look good like that.

I think the '68-'69 look better with the correct rocker panels but the later panels are less expensive.

Here are the best shots I have of my '68 at the moment. I can take more if you need.

Thanks for the pics guys. Great looking cars! I've been trying to upload some pics but it looks like the forum has changed formats? It doesn't work the same...

I'd forgotten, but my frame has a longitudinal tube that sits a few inches lower than the stock frame rail. The frame is black and sits about 3/4" below the rocker's bottom edge...so I'm thinking the factory style rockers are best...

Rick, they do look great on your car.

Wish I could upload a pic to show you all what I'm talking about...if anyone is interested there is an album in my profile hat shows how the body/frame sit...

Thanks again,
Rob
