Default What are the Chinese Wind-shield's like??

Need to order a replacement wind-shield for my 1980 and the supplier who imports the windshields from the US to the UK says they are Chinese made, but good quality!?

Anyone has experience?

Well I just replaced mine in the '72 and I am not sure if it is Chinese made or not but it looks good other than not having the original stampings.

My '72 windshield was replaced with a Chinese one. The black out trim on the edges is much larger than the original was.

Just asking, are the original or US replacements not available?

Now a days, everything is made in china. Don't need to get into that but the end product just never seems to satisfy..

Thats because the original parts mostly were made in the USA, and the Asian parts we get today are cheaper in everyday except the price. It is easier to buy new parts than it is to rebuild original parts and use them.

whatever you do, don't lick it !

I had a pilkington one that broke because of the infamous 'oops I forgot to install the corner trim' This one was definitly thinner then the original and fit wasn't to good. I then replaced it with a PGW, the sticker said made in Mexico. It was closer to the original thickness and fit was way better (towards the pillars, Pilkington had a bigger gap).
PGW doesn't mention a facility in china but maybe they are to ashamed to do so manufacturing locations
