Thanks. I'm particularly proud of the engine compartment as I did it myself. One of my gearhead buddies has dubbed me the "Charlie Daniels of the rattle can". Here's a couple of before pics:
The 454 pulls fairly stout with the hydraulic roller but I ain't got nuthin' for aj. He just had to show up and make me feel like a big pushey what with his stump pullin' vortecpro engine and all. Yep, get in the car, turn on the a.c., run a what, high 10 second quarter with the front wheels in the air and then ride back to the house in cool comfort? Man, some people just looooove to show off. Being able to do all of that makes for such a well sorted out machine.
Best rattle can resto I have ever seen.... And I've done quite a few of them myself..... looks like you fully restored it and detailed it out nicely.
Thanks but there really ain't nuthin' to it. All you have to do is remove the engine becuase flat tappet camshaft #1 went south, disassemble everything down to each nut and bolt, media blast everything you can, prime everything and rub with polishing grade steel wool, clean and paint. Easy-peasy. I guess the bad news is is that pic was taken before the camshaft #2 went flat so you know what I had to do. It still looks good but maybe not as good as it does there.
I will say this, your all around performance dwarfs my good looks. My buddy gearbanger's GTO (pontiac nut) has better than 450 rwhp, vintage air, runs mid 12s with significant traction issues and is driveable to any destination so I know a little about the effort that goes into fast, relialble and comfortable American muscle. It doesn't come cheap on the monitary end nor the time investment end. Awesome job.
I'll play. 1971 LS5 4 speed. Was originally a white car. PO painted it this color. Black interior. Lumpy roller cam. Lots of fun. I've had it since April.

Wow - amazing job. Giving me some inspiration to do mine.
