We had a great day playing with the LS-5's

I've discovered the secondaries on the carb! What a pant load of fun

Look at those mean wheels on Zoomin's car. Got to have me some of them

Last night we had our first non-club club meeting of the OKC 70 LS-5's

Laguna Gray, Donnybrooke Green, and Mulsanne Blue.

Beautiful! I'm not a big fan of the factory rally wheels, but those aftermarket wheel's on Zoomin's car are super nice!

Mulsane Blue is a gorgeous color! Maybe a color change is in order for my car when I get to paint?

I love these Year One Rally wheels.

and the raised white letter kit from Tredwear is icing on the cake!!

Look at the difference in my car. Thanks to Zoomin for turning me on to them.

Guess I may be one of the newest? Bought a 70 LS-5 convertible yesterday and love it so far. This one is not for the purists. Bought it to drive and enjoy but do plan to make some changes. Silver on black deluxe interior, L88 hood, 77-82 mirrors, 72 block (NOM), 500 hp, Tremec 5-speed, 3.73 gears, serpentine belt system, Vintage AC, Foose 18" wheels.

I don't know much about the history other than my Dad bought this sometime around 1989, when I was in junior high. It was in good condition and he drove it frequently but eventually he bought other toys and this one was left to sit. We made a deal that if I could certify and be successful as an air traffic controller, he would give me the car to rebuild (of course I've always loved working on cars and he knew I would never get rid of this one). So far I'm six years into the rebuild with about another year to go.

It has:

matching numbers engine/4 spd transmission
power steering, brakes and windows.
Originally Bridgehampton Blue with black vinyl. Had it changed it to Huggar Orange and will go with black vinyl again.
Has minimal after-market upgrades i.e. HEI dist. and Magnaflow exhaust and eventually gray torq thrust wheels.

Those side pipes look awesome. Wonder why it was not an option in 70???

Was it the change in motor?? 427 to 454.

The torque of the 454 is fantastic

The side exhaust is shown in the 1970 AIM, but has a big CANCELLED splashed across it. I would say it was all about the $$$$$.

Congrats on passing ATC, and getting a family heirloom. It's gonna be sweet!
