Hello looking for information on which springs everyone is using. I am not liking the way my Vette is sitting. it rides nice but the front sits pretty low and the tail is in the air. It almost looks like a cat in heat LOL
The rear spring is a 7 leaf spring and the car has KYB shocks all around, I don't see a spacer on top of the spring but the bolts are new that hold it in place. The rear spring seems to have a wicked arch to it. I did purchase longer bolts for the spring to trailing arm but I am afraid that they may rub the side walls.
Also this car is just a cruiser so I don't want anything too stiff for Maine roads but still agile enough to be a Corvette

Looks and sounds like a new read spring was put in. I have a new one in mine and I was told it should settle down within 500 miles. I've had mine in since November and it still hasn't dropped. I'm going to change over to 330 lb fiberglass spring. My car was 4" higher than stock when install the new spring. I put 2" longer bolts in thinking it will come on down but it hasn't. It's still setting where it was when I installed it.

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure how long this spring has been in the previous owner had it done along with the ugly aftermarket wheels. It now sits on a set of stock Corvette wheels.
I have seen a part number on the spring but don't remember it at this time its a 310 something on there

If you go to a fiberglass spring, it should drop right where it should be setting. You may have to adjust the bolts to the trailing arms up or down a little but it will fix your problem. They cost around $375ish so be ready for that. Make sure to get the filler plates and rubber bushings that go in the middle of the spring mount area.

I know people like fiberglass rear springs etc, but I was told a long time ago that if I can find nice original springs, use them. Many of the aftermarket springs are just not built to the correct ratings.

I feel your pain.....I just lowered the front suspension down to 2" above the wheels.....now I have to deal with the rear suspension-----as the original steel spring(s) still have plenty of arch in it(them)....





The height of the rear looks identical to your car......

I don't know about that look again here are some I just took today. The last photo is the part number on the spring. Would I be correct that it is January 9 1990 spring

I used longer bolts to get the ride height where I wanted it with no problems. Yours looks like it sits higher than mine did though, hey, it's worth a try.

I replaced the rear spring on my 63 with a Eaton. They are only ones who make exact replacement with OEM tension. I was very happy and my ride height was perfect from day one. I'm sure you could get the correct one from them for this application.
