Wiper angled or wiper bent?
Can someone enlighten me?
IIs the driver's side wiper arm straight and the passenger side wiper arm angled?
I've looked through catalogs but they seem inconsistent.
I'm afraid my passenger arm is bent.
Thanks.

Hi lm,
I believe the right-side arm in 68's picture may be bent a little. (Unless 68 arms are different than 69+).
The angle of the blade to the arm is a bit off, and the arm is bent a little too.
The first blade down (the left side) should be parallel with the 'stop' bracket, and the second blade down (the right-side) should lay parallel to the first blade and right next to it. The configuration of the arms, and the connections of the blades to the arms, make this happen.
This is necessary so that the door doesn't close on the right-side arm and blade.
Regards,
Alan
Note these arms have washer tubes on the arms that 68's car didn't have.

Below is a reply I posted from a previous thread on the similar subject.
I also had a problem with later model/replacement wiper arms fitting my 71.
The blades would not park low enough down the windshield for the door to close completely.
The problem is the later/replacement arms have a more acute bend at the end where the blade attaches. This causes the blades to park on an angle instead of being parallel.
The pictures below show the original compared to the later model or replacement arms being sold by the venders.
The first picture show my original arm (silver) compared to the replacement arm. The bend in the replacement arm is too acute causing the blades to hit and not allow the right blade to park low enough.
The second picture shows the original (top) and replacement (bottom).
The last picture shows my original arms installed and in the parked position. This allows the wiper door to fully close.
Hope this helps.

Aren't the 73+ arms different than the 72- ??? I thought they changed when the mid-mounted, deployable spoiler was removed...

Looks to me like you need to adjust the blade tilt and the arms a bit.

Hi M,
I would have thought the arms would have changed when the mid-spoiler disappeared, but it appears it don't happen until early in the 74 model year.
I 'think' the lower arm in Brad's middle picture is the 74+ arm.
Also it appears the 68 arms were the same as the 69-73+ except for the washer tubes.
Regards,
Alan

I think the other (later) were listed as "replacement", much like the washer bottle necks were ()
Surprised they went that far before changing, must have been lots on the shelf at the end of 72

I'm sure I ordered the 69-73 replacement arms (as the car is far from original I was not concerned about them having plastic tubes).
There are no adjusting screw on these arms and it was the angle the blade was on that was causing the problems.
This was about two years ago now, so maybe the venders have corrected the problem.

Brad
