Help with 69 louver attachment screws
Anyone actually find the correct attachment screws? I picked up the well nuts and screw kit from Dr Rebuild and the well nuts are ok and the screw threads are correct, but the head of the screw does not fit properly into the louver hole. It is way too big. I looked at the paragon catalog, but they do not sell the attachment kit separately.
Any of the vendors out there have the correct screws? Anybody out there with a 69 where did you get the replacement parts to attach the louvers?
I have seen restored cars with the correct screws, so I know you can get them somewhere.
Thanks,
Joe

Do you have a hardware store with a fastener section in your area? Take one of your screws with you and see if you can find the same thread pitch with a smaller head.

the heads of the screws that hold the louvers in are pretty unique, the thread is common (10-24 I believe) but the heads are slight oval and undersize to the thread and screw length and they where chrome. Never found anything in True Value like them and McMaster Carr didn't even have anything. I eventually bought stainless machine screws and ground down the heads/polished until they fit into the louver opening.
