Default Fiber Glass front fender glue?

Anyone know what glue to use on the nose clip of a 1971. I found a project for a friend and somewhere over the years or in transport the glue joint have let go from the frame work.

Thanks

Karsten

Hi k,
Are you asking about the material used to bond the fiberglass pieces that make up the clip together, or the material used to bond the clip to the cowl?
Or something else?
Regards,
Alan

Hi K,
You can use bonding adhesive from one of the usual vendors.
Make sure you order the product suitable the fiberglass panels used in 71, and not the adhesive for later panels which are still fiberglass, but are known as Sheet Molding Composite.

Alan

Mr. K,
My best results have been with a product made by Lord Fusor. Product number T-21 will bond almost anything. These are two part adhesives that mix together as they are forced out of a special mixing nozzle. Look it up on the net or You Tube. I have done several total restorations with it and no failures so far.

I have a section that is popped up between the hood and headlight causing the light to stick when it's raised
What would use to bond the fiberglass to the metal strip that is there (not much of a gap to get into)
Looks like I can reach it with the hood open
Thanks

What you need is an adhesive that will stick metal to SMC. Fusor 116 should do the trick.

Evercoat 880. Also known as VPA for fiberglass to fiberglass bonding. If I am not mistaken C-3 up until 71 wore fiberglass panels and 72 and up wore SMC which require a different adhesive Evercoat 994.
