Default what seats fit?

I know that a lot of guys use recovered fiero seats. And also there is an aftermarket of seats for the C3.But what about seats from other cars?I was at the salvage yard and my mind started wandering. What else would fit.Has anyone tried Nissan 300zx or Celica seats. They are more plentyful. Just asking.

There have been quite a few posts about this subject, but I don't recall anyone trying the Nissan or Toyota seats. I know C5 and C6 seats have been used, and there were a couple of others as well - drawing a blank on what they were at this point. Width is the biggest issue.

Mazda Miata/Mx5 seats fit well. I have trial fitted a pair in my '69 and they look good. I
have a post with photos and can forward drawings for the adapter brackets if needed.

this is what I mean.Think outside the box.I had a set of Firebird seats and they are too wide. That does seem like the main problem.

I am trying a set of Recaro's from a 911. Everything measures well so I think with a little mount modifications they should work. I think it will help out on the skid pad too!

They are a bit wide and push against the center console

I tried my 300 ZX ( 1993) seats in my C3 and they didn't work. I think they were too wide. SHame because they are really comfortable. There was a thread here about someone using 2005 mustang seats, almost a direct bolt in. Do a search, the pix make them look really comfy. I think that is the way I am going after I put in the new floorpans.

I took my seats to the shop and had them rebuilt... Repaired welds, frame ect.. Then new padding with built up sides and thighs ... They bolted right back in.....

I know this thread is pretty old but if you still have drawings for adapter brackets to fit miata into 69 c3 I sure would appreciate it. Thanks.

Friend of mine has seats from a C5 in his '76. He had to mount the rails from the C5 and wire in the electrical for the power adjustment but other than that, it made his C3 way more comfortable.
